Carlisle is a Perth, Western Australia suburb. The town of Victoria Park serves as its local government area. Carlisle, as it is known now, was established as part of a land grant to early Western Australian settlers around 1829. Swan Location 35 was awarded to Henry Camfield, while Canning Location 2 was granted to James Macdermott, and these property allocations comprised the neighbourhood and many of its adjacent suburbs. Despite multiple changes in property ownership, little development occurred in the region until the 1890s. Around this period, the neighboring community of Victoria Park witnessed significant expansion, centered mostly on Albany Road (later to become Albany Highway).
